​Laura Fernandez - Cafe Latino
Laura Fernandez was born in Madrid, Spain, spent her childhood in Switzerland and Calgary and is currently based in Toronto, Canada.  She is an award winning visual artist, pianist, singer-songwriter and recording artist. Her first CD, The Other Side, led to a prestigious award at the New York International Independent Music Festival, and performances at Madison Square Garden, the Knitting Factory, and The Bitter End, as well as international festivals. Her Cd Un Solo Beso is a celebration of her Spanish roots and Latin influences and was produced by Juno award winning producer Billy Bryans. The album features some of Canada’s most vibrant and highly acclaimed musicians with arrangements and performances by Hilario Duran, Roberto Linares Brown and Luis Mario Ochoa. The Cd received extensive airplay in Canada and abroad and has charted in the top 10 across Canadian campuses.  Ok, Alright; a new collection of songs, was released in 2020 during the pandemic and has also achieved international airplay. Laura also spent 5 weeks in India performing with Indian musicians and exploring Indo, Latin and Jazz fusions and released a CD under the Jazz Goa label.

​Johannes Linstead Duo
From having over 350 million streams on Pandora Radio, to being named Canada’s “Guitarist of the Year,” to winning eight “Best Album” awards, to seven top-ten US Billboard charting albums, Latin guitarist Johannes Linstead has become recognized internationally as one of the best selling guitarists in the Instrumental, Jazz and World Music genres.
Johannes recently released Bohemian Strings, his 11th studio album. The album brings together musicians from many diverse ethnic backgrounds, including Greece, Palestine, France, Canada, Australia, Iran, and the Dominican Republic, creating a unique listening experience, with emotional ballads and upbeat rumbas. Latin percussion, Middle Eastern violin, and raspy Gypsy vocals add a distinct spice to this very colourful album.
​Accompanying Johannes will be Toronto-based guitarist Geoff Hlibka. Geoff is a familiar face on the Toronto music scene, known for his many recording credits and live performances with many diverse groups, ranging from rock, country, folk, and Spanish guitar.

Rockever is a fun and entertaining band of Toronto based musicians which formed in 2013. Each musician brings to the band a vast musical background and experience.

Rockevers' repertoire, with new songs added regularly, can be described as Classic Rock & Roll, Popular, and Country from the 50's to the 90's. Rockever performs songs close to the original recordings adding their own unique style

Scarborough Music Theatre 


Scarborough Music Theatre, along with our sister companies Scarborough Players and Scarborough Theatre Guild, have been entertaining local audiences for over 60 years. From the early days performing in high school auditoriums, through many years at the old Playhouse 66, to our current home at Scarborough Village Theatre the group has grown and flourished with the support of our community. This season marks our 40th anniversary at Scarborough Village Theatre and we look forward to welcoming audiences back to our first full season since before covid. The 7 Strings
The 7 Strings is an all-girl band from Scarborough playing a wide variety of cover music from Frank Sinatra, Frankie Valli, Beatles, 70s-80s hits to the latest R&B and dance hits.  They started playing while at St. Malachy elementary school seven years ago.  The band members are Marianne (keyboard), Sophia (lead guitar), Avi (rhythm guitar), Gia (bass) and Mayumi (drummer).   They love to share their music with the audience performing at local events such as the Taste of Lawrence,  Nathan Philips Square, churches, seniors homes and for other community events. They inject funny anecdotes and scripts  to their music to make the performance interactive and enjoyable.  Their engaging musical style captivates the audience and brings back memories. Enjoy the show and sing along!

​Shivanjali Arts
Shivanjali Arts teaches and promotes Indian culture through Classical Indian Dance. They are based in Scarborough and Ajax and have classes for a wide range of ages. Today they will be performing traditional Classical Indian dances known as Kathak Dance. Kathak is a North Indian dance form that specializes in graceful movements, technical footwork, and mesmerizing pirouettes and is also a story telling art form.
 
The first item is done by the younger students - this is a song of Krishna and how he used to tease the village girls. Dancers are: Aanya, Satvicki, Myra, and Naveena. The second item is another representation of Krishna and his divine dance - danced by the intermediate students. Dancers are: Peetisha, Suhana, and Kavya. Finally, we have our adult group accompanied by the artistic director showcasing Kathak Technique. Dancers are: Anjuli, Radhica, Vaibhavi, Rajal.

Derrick Zuber Trio

Derrick Zuber is a Toronto born artist performing in a variety of styles, including rock, country, folk and blues. He has 3 albums of original songs and they are often compared with the styles of Tom Petty and Blue Rodeo. Derrick’s most recent album was recorded with Blue Rodeo producer, Tim Vesely and includes Blue Rodeo drummer Glenn Milchem and keyboardist Steve O’Connor. Derrick Zuber Trio is featuring Wes Morris on percussion and Andj Dominski on acoustic guitar. www.derrickzuber.com

Vintage Debris
Vintage Debris is a 5-piece band of friends with eclectic musical backgrounds known for their unique take on covers and original material in a wide variety of styles from R&B, roots rock, blues to bluegrass. Vintage Debris have entertained at the Guild Alive With Culture festival every year except one.
Band members have been playing music and performing in a variety of venues since their teen years – more than a few years ago. The band was originally formed about 18 years ago in Scarborough. Membership has evolved over the years. 
Current members are: Bill Brown – keyboards, vocals; Terry Donaghue – guitar, mandolin, vocals; Rob McDonald – guitar, vocals; Craig Telfer – drums, vocals; Phil Town – bass vocals.

Broke Fuse
A suitcase kick-drum. A toolbox of harmonicas. A beat-up guitar. Also, a mini-washboard, and a bit of kazoo for good measure. Hailing from Scarborough, Ontario, Broke Fuse is a one-man blues-band. 
Jay Moonah is the man behind Broke Fuse. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, he has created and released three distinct records: the LPs Why Should I Be Blue? (2020) and Rocket Ride (2021), and most recently Splashdown (2022), an all-instrumental EP. These have been extremely well-received and have helped earn Broke Fuse a nomination for New Artist or Group at this year’s Maple Blues Awards, Canada's national blues blues awards program. ​
