Jennie Town is an Afro-Indigenous Knowledge Keeper, educator, and multimedia artist who is active in the Scarborough community. Jennie has dedicated over 45 years to mentoring youth and sharing land-based teachings through traditional song, drumming, and medicine-gathering. We are deeply honored to welcome Jennie to the stage to ground our festival with ceremony, uniting us in rhythm, community, and gratitude.

Princess Melia
11:30 am The Greek Theatre Princess Melia is a powerful emerging force in the Canadian music industry. Born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon, she is proudly connected to her Indigenous roots, which shape her lyrical perspectives and musical textures. Princess Melia’s dynamic vocals can transport listeners to deep, emotional spaces, her music ranging from mellow R&B to electric club-pop anthems. Now based in Toronto, Princess Melia has found a new home in the city’s vibrant artistic community. She has graced the stage at festivals including Departure Festival + Conference (formerly Canadian Music Week), Long Winter Festival, Wonderhorse Emerging Arts & Music Festival, and the Dawson City Music Festival. Princess Melia also regularly drops new singles, some recent releases including “Notice,” “Lamotrigine,” and “Issues” in 2025. Her debut album, Good Nights and Bad Days, is out now! 12:30 pm Acoustic Stage The Bach Children’s Chorus (BCC) provides a first-rate choral experience for children, youth and young adults, and is known for setting a high standard of music education and performance experiences for community choirs. All choir levels meet once per week in Scarborough and participate in an integrated program of theory, sight-singing and vocal development. The BCC is accepting new members for our 40th season which begins in September 2026. We welcome all young people, from Kindergarten through to post-secondary, who love to sing! 1:15 pm The Greek Theatre Award winning community theatre at your doorstep. Scarborough Music Theatre (along with Scarborough Players and Scarborough Theatre Group) form Theatre Scarborough. This unique company has one of the only thrust stages (utilizing three sides for the audience) in the GTA. It is one of the reasons it is often referred to as a "smile with 250 seats"! The actors and crew and designers are all volunteers and perform a total of 8 plays, 3 musicals, cabarets (and even a family-friendly summer panto) and SMT also offers youth programming. The Toronto Banjo Band 2:00 pm Acoustic Stage The Toronto Banjo Band has spent four decades delivering foot-stomping, hand-clapping joy across Toronto. Specializing in four-string tenor and plectrum banjos, they serve up a nostalgic whirlwind of upbeat Dixieland jazz, ragtime classics, and unforgettable sing-alongs. From Sweet Georgia Brown to roaring 1920s melodies, the Toronto Banjo Band brings an infectious, family-friendly energy that guarantees smiles, toe-tapping, and pure musical fun for all ages. Website: TBB - Home Page The Shop 3:00 pm The Greek Theatre Blending jazz with gospel, R&B, pop-punk, and African influences,The Shop is a Toronto-based group forging a path in Canada’s jazz scene. The ensemble features Bureh Bollo-Kamara (guitar), Connor Moe (saxophones & flutes), Omar Gittens (drums), Racha Moukalled (vibraphone), and Carlo Santo Domingo (bass). Their debut LP Far From Comfort was released on May 30, 2025. The project has gained traction with tracks in rotation on Jazz FM 91.1 and Humber 96.9. Jung Street 11:30 am The Greek Theatre Jung St. is a powerhouse trio that refuses to live inside one box. With a setlist that leaps seamlessly from smoky jazz and raw blues to funk-driven R&B, fiery Latin and flamenco rhythms, country bluegrass twang, and classic rock anthems, they create a sound that’s as unpredictable as it is unforgettable. What ties it all together? Pure musicianship, playful chemistry, and a knack for making every audience feel like they’ve stumbled onto something rare. Whether they’re bending strings, weaving harmonies, or locking into a groove, Jung St. takes you on a genre-hopping ride that proves good music knows no borders. D'Skyz 12:30 pm Acoustic Stage D'Skyz is a versatile rock/roots/blues cover band delivering lush harmonies and striking guitar and harmonica solos. Rooted in Guildwood for over ten years, you might have seen them play at the Olde Stone Cottage Pub, Guild Alive with Culture Arts Festivals or the Pipes and Taps Pub in Oakville. Impulse Steel Orchestra brings the vibrant rhythms of Trinidad and Tobago to life with the infectious sound of steelpan. They’re a cultural force dedicated to sharing Caribbean heritage through high-energy performances and community-based education. With a mission to inspire joy, connection, and cultural pride, Impulse Steel Orchestra is dedicated to preserving tradition while sparking new passion for steelpan music in every generation. Instagram: @impulsesteelorchestra Kim Michele 2:00 pm Acoustic Stage A diverse performer, Professional Harpist, Indie Folk Singer/Songwriter, Musical Storyteller, Author, RCM Artist Educator. She is a Singer/Songwriter and performs an eclectic mix of melodies and songs including old ancient traditional ballads and musical genres from Celtic to Classical and Traditional to Contemporary. Kim Michele also combines storytelling amid the sounds of the ancient harp bringing an eclectic mix of melodies, songs and poetry to tales of fairy, folklore, history, heritage, and original stories to enhance the spoken word and create a variety of programming for schools, seniors, concerts and festivals. The Band Destiny 3:00 pm The Greek Theatre Get ready to move with The Band Destiny, three-time “Top Soca Band” award-winning West Indian Crossover band! This powerhouse musical family has been tearing up stages and carnivals nationwide since 2007 with their infectious, high-octane energy. Fusing the driving rhythms of Soca, Calypso, and Reggae with global Dancehall, Chutney, and pop fusions, they deliver a non-stop, genre-bending party experience.
